Believe Me Irene took second in her trial & qualified under Jose Enriquez
Race record: 3-0-2-1 Day 1, Race #6
Diamond Racing Stables’ Believe Me Irene was timed in at :21.843 under Jose En- riquez, and that stood up as the 4th-fastest time on the 1st day of trials. Believe Me Irene finished 2nd, 1 1⁄4-lengths behind Shakem Bye Perry in the 6th heat. Shae Cox trains the Valiant Hero-sired filly, who remains a maiden with
a pair of seconds and a third
from three starts. Believe Me Irene started her career on May 26 at Ruidoso Downs, where she finished third in a trial to the Ruidoso Futurity-G1. One month later, she was entered in a maiden race at The Downs at Albuquerque. Sent off favored, she ran a close second that day, then headed back to the mountain and Ruidoso Downs. Her second-place trial effort leaves her as the only maiden in the All American Futurity field. Believe Me Irene was bred
in Arizona by H & E Ranch Inc. She is sired by Valiant Hero and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Financial Leverage si 98 ($11,534). Financial Leverage is a 1/2-sister to stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Drill Baby Drill si 105 ($122,163, Ntr), stakes-placed Surfin Waves si 98 ($35,133), and others. Believe Me Irene’s second dam is Lady Dee Vee Em si 99 ($19,612), and her third dam is World Champion Down With Debt si 102 ($404,381). This is the maternal family of Grade 1 winner Separate Dynasty si 93 ($135,183), Grade 3 winner Fly Out Of Debt si 100 ($111,752), and others.
