REAL WAGON

Real Wagon rolled into the company of stakes winners on Oct. 12, out-nodding post-time favorite Iris Royal Jess in the 400-yard $60,000
Terrace Hill Stakes at Prairie Meadows.
A 14-1 longshot at the betting window, Real
Wagon made a huge rally approaching the wire to secure the upset win. He was fifth as then-leader Iris Royal Jess hit the stretch, then came flying strongly to pass his rival gelding at the finish line.
Cody Smith was aboard for the stakes-winning trip, and the pair finished in :20.181 for an 84 speed index. Alex Wessels trains Real Wagon.
Kay Sage home-bred the 5-year-old gelding, who now has 4 victories in 14 career starts. Real Wagon already had his black type, finishing 2nd in the 2017 running of the Polk County Derby.
The $28,800 winner’s share of the purse from this event pushed his lifetime earnings into six digits at $102,551.
Sage bred Real Wagon out of lightly raced Real Royal Down. The mare has produced 100% money earners from six starters, including My T Oak Tree, who ran third in last year’s edition of the Terrace Hill Stakes and fourth in the 2017 Polk County Derby. With this win, Real Royal Down became her first stakes winner.
Alex Wessels also trains second place Iris Royal Jess (Captain Courage-Pure Royal Dash), who is owned by B/B Wessels LLC, and Stormy Smith did the riding. Sweet Twisted Tea (Sweet First Down- Dashing On The Moon) was third under Jonathan Dominguez for owner/trainer David Palafox.
Fast N Famous Jeans (One Famous Eagle-Fast Jeans) finished fourth and RM Kool Okey (Lil Kool Wagon-Okey Dokey Dixie), Jess Summertime (One Sweet Jess-Regally Rare) and My T Oak Tree (Oak Tree Special-Real Royal Down) completed the order of finish.
Future Of Iowa Stakes
ISLAND GURL

Island Gurl successfully defended her crown in the $60,000 Future of Iowa Stakes at Prairie Meadows, taking this year’s renewal in another strong gate-to-
wire effort on Oct. 12.
Piloted by jockey Jorge Torres, Island Gurl
flashed good speed away from the gate in the 350- yard event. She led throughout and turned back all challengers to post the 1/2-length victory.
Running for trainer Tony Jones, she stopped the timer in :17.964, earning an 88 speed index.
It was the first win of the year for Island Gurl, who closed out her 2018 campaign with a wire-to- wire win in the 2018 Future of Iowa Stakes. Owned by Richard Tobin, Island Gurl has now won nine of 22 career starts. The $28,200 winner’s share of the purse raised her earnings to $145,007.
Sheri Lynn Andrew bred Island Gurl out of lightly raced Streaking Out. She has produced 100% money earners from eight starters, including Where The Eagles Fly, who finished third in the Little Pana Bar Stakes. Island Gurl is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Her second dam is Streaking First, who was a finalist in the PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-RG2.
Odds-on race favorite The Polar Vortex (Carters Cartel-Signs Zoomer) finished in second under Justin Shepherd for owner Thomas Lepic and trainer Jason Olmstead.
Storming Red Chickie (Red Storm Cat-Burn Down Chickie), also saddled by Tony Jones, and ridden by jockey Jonathan Dominguez, was third for owner Kevin Helms.
Miss Alice Grace (Jess Racy-Beduinos Heart), Kays Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Real Royal Down), SFS Silver Lining (Fantastic Corona Jr-Eye Speed Too), MGA Lil Kool Wilena (Lil Kool Wagon-Time For Wilena) and Blind Spot Bandit (Jess Louisiana Blue-Especially Lavish) followed.
Two Rivers Stakes-G3
ADMIRAL STING

Admiral Sting showed grit when he won the $50,000 Grade 3 Two Rivers Stakes at Prairie Meadows on Oct. 12.
The four-year-old sorrel colt broke in fifth from the two-post under regular rider Jimmy Brooks. The pair quickly grabbed the lead at the first call. Brooks and Admiral Sting held the lead throughout the remainder of the 440 yards and held off Eagle Deluxe to win by a neck, stopping the timer in :21.728 and posting a 101 speed index.
Running for owner/breeder Jahree Strandridge, Admiral Sting was awarded the $28,000 first place check, increasing his total lifetime earnings to $193,535. Trained by Kasey Willis, Admiral Sting now has a race record of 20-7(3)-2-3(1). Prior to this victory, the colt won both the Mr Jet Moore Stakes-G2 and the Mighty Deck Three Stakes-G3 in 2019 and was 3rd in the 2018 Oklahoma Horsemen’s Assoc. Mystery Derby.
Standridge bred Admiral Sting out of Sting Scorpion Sting, winner of the 2006 Quicksilver
Stakes and third the 2006 Juvenile Stakes at Tulsa Fair Meadows. She has produced 100% money earners from four starters, including top money earner Admiral Sting, also the winner of the 2016 Easy Date Handicap.
Eagle Deluxe (One Famous Eagle-Corona Deluxe) was second for owners Bill and Tom Maher and Movin On. The Jason Olmstead trainee had Berkley Packer in the saddle. HTR Miamor Tequilla (Heart Of The Cartel-Sheila Tequilla) was third under Eugenio Navarrete Jr. for owner HTR Stables LLC and trainer Edward Ross Hardy. Ms Jess Knockout (Apollitical Jess-Adolph Tres Knockout), Bye Byefreighttrain (Freighttrain B-Bye Bye Bygones), Marfilmio (Ivory James-Sinuous), California Blossom (Desirio-Quiero Dinero), Silver Citizen (Silver City TB-Red Alarm) & Painted Dynasty (FDD Dynasty- Tygers Painted Girl) sompleted the field. Flight To La Jolla & PYC Jess Bite Mydust were scratched.
