CAT DADDYS LIL GIRL
by Danny Camp
Cat Daddys Lil Girl sprang like a cat from the number seven post in the $145,000 New Mexico Quarter Horse Fillies and Mares
Championship-RG1 at Zia Park on Dec. 1. The filly showed grit and determination in
the 400 yard sprint. At the halfway mark, she was only a head in front, but with encouragement from jockey Mauro Salcedo they were able to cross the line a neck to the good. Owned and bred by Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vasquez, the gray filly stopped the timer at :19.747 to earn a 93 speed index. She also earned first place money of $87,000 to take her total earnings to $245,062. Her race record stands at five wins out of twelve races. Cynthia G. Gonzalez trains the filly.
Negrete and Vasquez bred Cat Daddys Lil Girl out of Zia Futurity-G1 winner Girlonthego. The mare has produced two winners from three starters, including top earner and stakes winner Ryansmansonthemoon.
Hollywoodcrown (Heza Motor Scooter- Hollywood Gone TB) had a late start under Jose Alvarez, but with a big kick the second half of the race she was able to get up for second place money for owner/trainer Fred Danley.

by Michael Compton
Tuckers Prize made his stakes debut a winning one, taking down top prize in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Derby-RG3 at Fair Grounds on Dec. 14.
