Eysa Jess Jumpn has notched her second stakes win in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile held at Fair Grounds Race Course on Dec. 8.
Josue Huitron trains Eysa Jess Jumpn, who grabbed the lead by the first call. The filly was
in front by a 1/2-length entering the stretch, and then pulled away to win by a 1-length. Ridden by Guadalupe Lucio Jr., the filly made the 350-yard trip in :17.503 for a 95 speed index.
Jose Estrada Quarter Horses owns Eysa Jess Jumpn, who has won five of eight races since making her competitive debut in February. That includes the Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity-RG1 in July. This win added $45,000 to her bankroll, pushing her total earnings to $425,770.
D&S Racing LLC, bred Eysa Jess Jumpn out
of 2-time winner Jess Jumpn, who was a finalist in the 2012 TQHA Sires Cup Futurity-RG2. She has produced two winners from three starters. Eysa Jess Jumpn is her first stakes winner and top earner.
TDZ Louisiana Toast (Jess Louisiana Blue-Shes A Royal Toast) and Manuel Gutierrez finished sec- ond for owner Juan Martinez-Labastida and trainer Josue Ponce. Zoomin Patriot (Jet Black Patriot-Zippy Zoomer) was third under Ricardo Garza-Cruz for owner Claudia Avila and trainer Rolando Almanza.
Amending The Bar (Five Bar Cartel-Making Amends) was fourth, followed by Five Bar Perry
(Five Bar Cartel-Miss Classy Perry), Im For Real (Whathaveigottado-Imnotplaying), Tan Jet (Jet Black Patriot-Tantalizing Eyes), Mr Range Rover (Heza Fast Dash-Dashformoomoo), Guidry Pride II (Sir Runaway Dash-Guidrys Boodie Doo), Jess Run Corona (Jess Louisiana Blue-First Corona Runner), Corona Prize (Fast Prize Dash-Corona Baby) and Jess Runawaytogether (Sir Runaway Dash-Jesstogether) completed the order of finish. Guidry Pride II was disqualified from sixth to ninth.
Opelousas Stakes-RG2
SAN LORENZO CORONA

San Lorenzo Corona was a prompt 19-10 favorite in the $40,000 Opelousas Stakes-RG2 at Evangeline Downs on Nov. 10.
Racing for Rogelio Marquez Jr., San Lorenzo Corona defeated Sweet Bru by 1-length in :19.463 for 400 yards. Eddie Sanchez rode the 4-year-old colt for trainer Jose Sanchez III. He was shortening in dis- tance off of his 1 1/2-length victory in the 440-yard Mid-City Stakes-RG3 at Fair Grounds Racecourse on Sept. 8.
Raced exclusively in his home state, San Lorenzo Corona has won five of 12 starts, including two stakes, and he has earned $122,889.
San Lorenzo Corona was bred by Jim and Natalie Montgomery out of lightly raced In The Open. She has produced 100% money earners from 12 start- ers, including Champion Open Me A Corona. San Lorenzo Corona is her second stakes winner.
San Lorenzo Corona’s second dam, Ocean Memories, produced two stakes winners, including 2004 La Primera Del Ano Derby-G2 winner Ocean Cartel. He traces back to his third dam, In The Curl TB, who foaled Runaway Wave, the dam of 2006 World Champion Wave Carver.
Sweet Bru (Embrujo FG-Dashin Sweetpea) ran second for owner Jose Ortiz. Floriberto Maldonado rode the 5-year-old mare for trainer Gary Mason.
Zoomin For Grace (Zoomin For Bux-Fire And Grace) finished third under Luis Vivanco for owner Belinda Arriaga and trainer Alberto Solis.
Heza Louisiana Dash (Heza Fast Dash- Eyejesslovelouisiana), Ms Leaving You (Coronas Leaving You-Ms Pilot Point), TF Ms Perrys Runaway (Sir Runaway Dash-Dashadee), JRS Coronas Shadow (Coronas Leaving You-Shadow Of Colors), Super Sonic Patriot (Jet Black Patriot-Totally Selfish TB) and Pop Rocket Jess (Jess Pop My Rocket-Mita Jenny) completed the order of finish.
Races And Aces Stakes
MR DESERT STREAK

Mr Desert Streak scored the first stakes victory of his career, leading from start to finish
to capture the $30,000 Races and Aces Stakes at
Evangeline Downs on Nov. 3.
Ridden by Luis Vivanco, Mr Desert Streak broke
alertly from the rail and within a matter of strides opened a 2 1/2-length lead in the 870-yard contest.
He maintained a clear advantage into the lane where he held off a late challenge from race favorite Louisiana Dressblues to prevail by a neck for a wire- to-wire victory.
Mr Desert Streak covered the distance in :45.567, earning an 88 speed index.
Trey Ellis conditions the 4-year-old gelding for Kaylee Walker. Mr Desert Streak has now won back- to-back races, having won an optional claiming event at Evangeline in his prior outing. All told, he has won 5 of 17 career starts and bankrolled $79,395.
Gene Terry Glessner bred Mr Desert Streak out of 2-time winner Miss Desert Streak. She has produced 100% money earners from seven starters, including 2-time winner First Desert Streak and winner Bye George. Mr Desert Streak is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Ellis also saddled runner-up Louisiana Dressblues (Jess Louisiana Blue-Charlomaine TB) who just missed under Donell Blake for owner Wilson One Consulting LLC. The gelding was third in the Live Oak Stakes at Delta Downs earlier this year.
Im Mighty Fast (Mighty Corona-Sheza Fast Doll) and Gerardo Garrido finished third for owner Triple C Racing Stables LLC and trainer Jesus Garrido. The gelding was second in the Magnolia Stakes earlier this year.
JW Who Dat (Agouti-EW Comment) and B And G Fast Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Rita Regent) followed. Geaux Dashin Bye and No Politics Here were scratched.
