Montevina (Big Daddy Cartel-Bridgette Bordeaux) finished in third place, 1/2-length behind Honky Tonk Daddy, and pocketed $43,283 for her effort. Esgar Ramirez rode the filly, a $20,000 yearling purchase and a half- sister to graded stakes winner Jess Bordeaux. Montevina is owned by US Alliance Logistic and trained by Jose Luis Muela. Montevina won her trial to the New Mexican Spring Futurity-RG2 and was the ninth-fastest quali- fier to the finals.
