EC Revenge apparently liked winning a stakes race at Remington Park so much that he did it for a second time. The two-year-old gelding doubled his
stakes victory total with a 1-length triumph in the $93,000 Heritage Place Juvenile, the final race of the 2019 meet at Remington Park on June 1.
Owned by Elizabeth Logan, EC Revenge also won the Oklahoma Futurity-G2 earlier during the Remington meet.
The rookie gelding is off to
an outstanding start, unde-
feated through his first four
outs and sitting on a bankroll
of more than $200,000—
totaling $200,164 with the
$26,882 prize from this race.
The Heritage Place Juvenile consisted of horses who didn’t qualify to the Heritage Place Futurity-G1. EC Revenge was one of six trial winners in the Heritage
Sam Houston Derby-G3
Place Juvenile field still looking for some stakes glory, and the Dee Keener trainee came through in rather impressive fashion.
After breaking from the 7-gate a bit tardy, EC Revenge was a close second at the first call, then charged past Coronado Bay to seize a 2-length lead by the time he entered the stretch. The gelding coasted to the wire,
still enjoying a one-length separation.
Jockey James Flores was aboard for a 350-yard trip that took :17.516 and posted a 90 speed index. He covered the same distance in :17.637 in his May 10 Heritage Place Futurity trial.
William E. Smith bred EC Revenge and home-bred his dam, SS Pamilla, an unraced 2010 mare. She has produced 100% winners/ROM earners
from three starters. EC Revenge is her first stakes winner.
Trial winner Carters Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Runawayheart) finished in second place
for owner Mag 3 Racing. Bobby Martinez is the conditioner and Damian Martinez drew the rid- ing assignment. Trial winner DF Mischievious
Jess (Apollitical Jess-Mischievous Player) finished in third place under jockey Rodrigo Vallejo for owner DF Mischievious Jess Partners and trainer James Padgett II. Followed by Apollitical J Julia (Apollitical Jess-Julias Perfection), Shannon
Power (Hes Relentless-Shanachee), Cajun King (The Louisiana Cartel-Easydoesitcindy), Dallas Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Passion For Corona), Ima Fancy Knockout (Im A Fancy PYC-Adolph Tres Knockout) and Coronado Bay (Coronado Cartel- Shes The Eagle). Political Candyhouse scratched.
plans beyond that remain on hold. “It depends how she’s looking. Right now, she doesn’t have any problems and she’s sound, but you never know.”
Runnin For Corona (Corona Cartel-Runaway Wave) finished second under Victor Urieta for owner Dianna Karen Estrada and trainer Josue Ponce. Zoomin Patriot (Jet Black Patriot-Zippy Zoomer) and Ricky Ramirez were third for owner Claudia Avila and Rolando Almanza.
Paint Me A Sinner (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Shades Of Sin Tacha), LJ Moonrise (Separatist-Risen Eagle), Makelogangreatagain (Louisiana Senator-Logans Game), Mr Corona Crystal (Mr Jess Perry-Corona Crystal), Dees Jetting Diva (Jet Black Patriot-La Boreal), Jess Master Angel (Dash Master Jess-Mi Angela) and All Sophia Wanted (Five Bar Cartel-All I Ever Wanted) completed the field.

Eysa Jess Jumpn notched her fourth career stakes victory with her triumphant effort in the $167,500 Sam Houston Derby-G3 held at
Sam Houston Race Park on May 3.
“Every time she runs, she runs a good speed.
She’s fast,” trainer Josue Huitron said. “She got a good start. We were really happy.”
Eysa Jess Jumpn broke from the inside starting gate and promptly seized a 2-length lead by the first call. The separation widened to
3-lengths by the time Guadalupe
Lucio Jr. steered her into the
stretch, and the filly coasted to a
1 3/4-length victory.
The 350-yard trip took :17.268, registering a 105 speed index, and produced a $67,000 payday that improved her total earnings to $509,870.
Owned by Jose Estrada Quarter Horses, Eysa Jess Jumpn now holds eight wins in 11 starts and is off to a 3-0
start in 2019. Eysa Jess Jumpn, who was named the 2018 LQHBA Champion 2-Year-Old
Filly, previously won last year’s runnings of the Louisiana Bred Futurity-RG1 at Delta Downs and the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile-RG2 at Fair Grounds. Back in January, she won the Billy Montgomery Stakes at Louisiana Downs, also setting the 350-yard track record. Given that
past performance,
it comes as no surprise that the filly was the heavy favorite in this event, going off at 1-2 odds at post time.
“I thought she would do okay. She’s a good filly [but] in the races you never know what could happen,” Huitron said.
D&S Racing, LLC, bred Eysa Jess Jumpn out of winner Jess Jumpn. The late 2010 mare was owned by Spring Hill Farms.
Huitron said that his fan- tastic filly is paid into the Delta Downs Derby, but any future
