It took a shake to get her in the race as the 10th-fast- est qualifier, but Queen Catherine took advantage of the opportunity and won the 350-yard $71,730 John
Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge-G3 on Aug. 1. Ridden by Cesar Gomez and sent to post at odds
of 17-1, Queen Catherine won by 1/2-length and stopped the timer in :17.572 while recording a career- best 91 speed index. Kasey Willis saddled the sorrel filly for owner Hay Racing of Seminole, Oklahoma.
In addition to earning the $32,996 winner’s share of the purse, Queen Catherine landed a berth in the Nov. 7, $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 at Lone Star Park.
Queen Catherine has now won two of six outs and has banked $42,768.
The filly was bred by Gary Vaughan of Coalgate, Oklahoma, and is one of two starters foaled by win- ner Ms Casholene, who ran third in the 2008 Blue Ribbon Futurity-G2.
The second-fastest qualifier, runner-up JS Abel Dasher (The Louisiana Cartel-Shaken Easy Dash) races for James Sills and Abelardo H. Flores. The homebred gray filly was trained by Eddie Willis, who gave a leg up to jockey Jose Vega.
My Streakin La Jolla (Tempting Dash-Prissy
La Jolla) ran third, 1 1/2-lengths behind Queen Catherine, for owner Melvin Neugebauer of Manzanola, Colorado. Adrian Ramos rode the sorrel gelding for trainer Wes Giles.
Takoradi (Ivory James-All About Ease) fin- ished fourth and was followed by Finnick (Fire
And Corona-Hawks Dancing Straw), Stop The Commotion (Tres Seis-Start The Commotion), Queen Arabella (Heza Motor Scooter-Wild Wonder Child), Lady Perry On Fire (Walk Thru Fire-Jess Sass Me), and fastest qualifier Get Down Earlene (Tempting Dash-Amight Sassy). Third-fastest quali- fier EOS Corona N Chicks was scratched.
Mr Jet Moore Handicap-G3
STREAK HITTER

Streak Hitter, a 5-year-old sorrel gelding owned by Olivas Racing LLC of Seminole, Texas, scored his second career stakes victory in the $50,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap-G3 at Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 2. Prepped by Guadalupe Munoz Jr. and ridden
by Jaime Leos, Streak Hitter went 400 yards in :19.466 while defeating Jesscuzican by 1/2-length. The $30,000 winner’s share of the purse pushed his bankroll to $154,024.
Campaigned in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and California, Streak Hitter has won seven of 18 starts. The gelding earned his first stakes win in last year’s 400-yard $55,000 Lovington Stakes-G2 at Zia Park.
Streak Hitter was bred in California by 13-time Champion Breeder Edward Allred. The gelding’s dam, the winning & graded stakes placed mare Chickasis, has foaled 21 winners from 29 starters. Chickasis was part of the breeding program of the late Blane Schvaneveldt, a 12-time Champion Trainer who was inducted in
the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2001. Chickasis has produced 5 stakes winners, includ-
ing Hot Hitter, who won the 2010 Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG2 & 2011 Governor’s Cup Derby-RG1, both at Los Alamitos, Hard Hitting, who swept Los Al’s Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG1 & Derby-RG1 in 2009- 2010, and Grade 3 winner Lassen County.
2014 Champion Aged Stallion Jesscuzican (Feature Mr Jess-Covenant Confirmer) was 2nd under Larry Payne for breeder/owner Darian Burt & trainer Wes Giles. Master Salls Handicap
EXECUTIVE TRUST

Making his first start since May 30, Executive Trust rallied to win the $30,000 Master Salls Handicap at Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 9.
Executive Trust covered 870 yards in :45.831 under jockey Ruby Gonzalez, last year’s leading Thoroughbred rider at Ruidoso, and the 4-year-old gray gelding’s margin of victory was 1/2-length from CR Tuckernuck. Guadalupe Munoz prepped Executive Trust for owner Sherree Meridyth of Odessa, Texas.
Campaigned primarily in New Mexico, Executive Trust has won seven of 17 races, including last year’s King Rick Rack Stakes at Zia Park. The $18,000 winner’s share of the Master Salls purse pushed his bankroll to $148,017. The gelding was coming off of a second-place finish in the 870-yard, $50,480 Remington Distance Handicap-G3.
Executive Trust was bred in Texas by Gus Barakis’ Scarlett Hill Farm at Weatherford. The gelding is one of four winners from five start-
ers foaled by winner Entrust. Executive Trust is
a full brother to 2012 Ruidoso Derby-G1 winner Executive Brass, and Outta Texas, the runner-up in last year’s All American Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Ruidoso. Executive Trust’s third dam, Elan Again, was the sport’s Champion Aged Mare in 1975.
