Dear Employee

organization in which to work and grow. Our success is our people and we believe we have the
best people working with us. We also believe that you have the potential to be successful here
and that is the reason you were hired.

A careful introduction to our Company and culture is a critical foundation for your success. This
is the time that you will learn who we are, the way we do things around here, and what is ex-
pected from you. In order to assist with your beginning stage we have created and program of
excellence designed specifically for helping you. We call this program CORE.

CORE is carefully designed to be a unique combination of classroom learning, management in-
teraction, group meetings, and self-directed study and exploration. Your first 3 days with us will
be largely planned and scheduled, After that, you will move to your new work area and the rest
of the program is designed for you to continue your learning while you are working in your job
responsibility. This is part of the learning is largely self-directed and will require you to manage
your time, and to plan and follow up well. This will also allow you the opportunity to experience
and apply your newly acquired knowledge in your work environment.

There are specific topics and schedules and it will get you off to a good start.

What follows in this manual is a detailed outline of CORE. There are specific topics and sched-
ules and it will get you off to a good start. However, your learning should not stop after CORE
is finished. We expect that you will be learning throughout your career and you should feel free
to revisit a particular area or topic where you have additional questions.

Finally, we know there is a lot of information for you to absorb during the first year in learning
our business. While it can be demanding, and expectations are high, we want you to have fun
and enjoy your growth at UTL.

          Regards,
