other than the child’s parent and/or guardian, or as required by local, state or federal
agencies.
Staff Background Checks & Immunizations
Each staff member employed at Walnut Creek Academy goes through state-mandated
background checks prior to being offered a position. We only hire staff who meet the
state’s mandated requirements.
Our school requires all staff to receive TB testing every two years. We maintain a copy
of all current TB test results in our records. We track all test due dates to ensure that
employees are notified when they need to be retested. Additionally, each staff person
receives ongoing annual training in accordance with state regulations.
Outdoor Policy
Our daily schedules have designated times for outdoor play everyday. Children engage in
outdoor play in accordance with state licensing guidelines. Please make sure your child is
properly dressed for the weather.
In the event that the weather seems too hot, too cold or too rainy to go outside, we will
participate in indoor activities to promote movement to provide the same amount of
physical activity.
Children who are well enough to attend school must be well enough to participate in all
activities, including outdoor play. If there are medical reasons why your child can’t play
outdoors but is well enough to be at the center, we will make every attempt to comply with
your request when presented with a physician’s written instructions.
