Our Vision...

Our vision on education in the Regional Directorate of Primary and

Secondary Education of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace reflects the vision of the

political leadership in the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and

is summed up in the phrase "a school without walls". A school open to ideas
and society, to knowledge and to future, to empathy for the "Other" that makes

use of every modern tool.

A school that aims to enhance the cultivation of soft skills, of life skills and

technology and science skills in students. A school that enhances the
development of students' critical thinking and cooperation through a series of

topics, such as human rights, respect and diversity, according the words of the

Minister of Education and Religious Affairs Mrs. N. Kerameos: "We believe it is

necessary to cultivate these skills from an early age in order to make them an
integral part of students' behavior towards others."

A multicultural school that does not reject, but on the contrary promotes

the national cultural tradition and it is in a fruitful dialogue with other cultures. A

dialogue which aims at safeguarding universal human values; in a world that
maintains its cultural diversity, but which is not a divisive element, but a vehicle

for communication and holistic development of young people.
