1st Assistant Golf Professional Echo Lake Country Club, Westfield, NJ
Echo Lake Country Club is an 18-Hole family-oriented private facility with over 450 members. The
Club was first established in 1899, however the course that exists today was designed by the famed
Donald Ross in 1922. Echo Lake has served as host for the US Junior Amateur in 1992 as well as the
US Junior Girls in 2002. Echo Lake has also hosted a Met Open and three New Jersey State Open
tournaments. Echo Lake Country Club is known as the “Hidden Gem” of New Jersey Golf.
● Oversee a golf operation of over 450 members that utilizes a ForeTees tee-time system with play
averaging 20,000 rounds annually
● Organize, run and manage tournament operations for over 100 club events, and 20 corporate
outings, working closely with both the men’s and women’s golf committees
● Supervise and oversee one of the largest private junior golf programs in the state, consisting of more
than 180 junior golfers. The program grew by 75% during my first year by adding additional clinics
for 5-7 year olds as well as adding eleven camps. Organize instructional and play schedules, as well as
build skills curriculums for all ages and playing abilities. Responsible for growing participation by
continuing to improve programs and strengthening the collaboration between the junior golf
committee, staff, parents and junior golfers
● Hire, train, supervise and schedule ten employees, including three PGA & LPGA Professionals, Golf
Shop Manager, and one PGM University Intern. Establish a policy of professionalism and knowledge
of fundamental teaching philosophies. Monitor the progress of their education and provide
mentoring in all aspects of the golf operation
● Assist the Head Golf Professional in the management of an operations budget of $700,000.
Communicate on a daily basis with the Head Golf Professional to debrief him on the daily workings
of the golf operation, upcoming projects and events, and on the current needs of the membership
● Attend regular meetings with the Greens Committee, Golf Committee, Junior Golf Committee, 18/9
Hole Committees and Food & Beverage Department regarding long range plans and daily golf
operations
● Manage inventory and merchandising for a golf shop operation that exceeds $600,000 in annual sales.
Proficient in utilizing Jonas (POS) system as well as inventory control programs
● Participate in daily activities of the golf shop including the selection of merchandise, hard goods, and
Point Of Sale procedures. Utilize merchandising promotions to create new ways to drive business
and increase revenues in the golf shop
● Highly skilled in receiving, pricing and managing inventory in order to maintain budget while
providing superior equipment and apparel to members
● Provide over 250 lessons annually to golfers of various playing abilities, including private instruction,
clinics, and playing lessons. Conduct customized golf club fittings and video instruction for members
● Assist with managing the 9-hole and 18-hole women’s organizations, with over 100 members,
including the online tee time reservation system and tournament schedule
● Attend the annual PGA Merchandise Show and participate in the open-to-buy plan, managing the
purchasing of over $8,000 in trophies and prizes for annual tournaments
