Hamilton: Mercantile Commercial Block on High Street

Left: The Mercantile Commercial Block at 228, 232 and 236 High Street all ooded in 1913, requiring ambitious clean-up efforts.
Right: The three buildings have borne several names and housed many businesses and of ces over the years. Today, the buildings have new residential and commercial tenants, most recently the city’s oldest law rm and its oldest architectural business. The area has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004.
