Dayton: Main Street, looking north
Above: Water rushed down Dayton’s Main Street in 1913, rising eventually to the glass globes on light poles and almost completely covering trolley cars. The Soldiers Monument in the center of the intersection at Main and Monument streets can be seen in the background along with several of Dayton’s early skyscrapers, including
the Reibold and Kuhns buildings on the left. The 1904 United Brethren Press Building, on the other side of Main Street, was the tallest in Dayton during the  ood. The Conover (American) Building was a block north of the United Brethren Building.
