•  There is need to highlight the issue of climate change in the gender inequality analysis as women are more vulnerable to climate change leading to
                    escalated tensions if unmanaged properly.
                •  There is need for inclusivity and decentralization of funds to local authorities to ensure  access to appropriate and equitable distribution of services
                    provided by government institutions
                •  Support to increase the voice of women and youth and support to enhance resilience of local communities is key
                •  The Youth representatives stressed a high level of youth unemployment and a low level of education and skill trainings, which inevitably push youths
                    to be on the frontlines of several conflicts including tribalism, religion, caste system, and land dispute
                •  The progress on the National Development Plan (NDP) which aims at reducing youth unemployment rate is low which leaves a number of youths on
                    the street
                •  There was a reminder on the need to establish the Infrastructure for Peace (I4P) which MOI needs to take a lead on and be responsible for its
                    coordination.
                •  TANGO (voice of the CSOs) made emphasis on the issue of citizenship, drug use by young people, land and natural resource management and food
                    security as conflict drivers
                •  There was highlight on the issues of cross-border conflicts between the Gambia and Senegal and Children’s rights and proper coordination to protect
                    their rights, and Women’s right by promoting women empowerment
                •  The lack of progress on the disability bill and the rejection of the draft constitution was also noted as a set-back for persons with disabilities who are
                    already affected by lack of accessibility to buildings, education, health, environment inaccessibility, and lack of mobility
                •  The CSO coalition on SSR also noted the lack of training given to GAF, GPF, GID and other security bodies and their behavior is a concern to maintain
                    a peaceful society
                •  The outcome of TRRC process and how to manage low political will and public ownership is a concern and could be a threat to social cohesion and
                    national reconciliation and healing
                •  The representative from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs reiterated the importance of the policy planning process to incorporate the
                    issues raised by the participants on the various sectors. Also noted the importance of capacity building of government institutions to manage the
                    various issues highlighted
                •  All the key messages presented were largely validated by participants


                d. Conclusion/closing ceremony
                           UNRC concluded the meeting by thanking all the participants for attending and sharing their ideas. She also encouraged the


                    participants to send an email if there is any thought they would like to share.
