Environment
Decline in agricultural harvest due to erratic rainfall. Decline in agricultural productivity, increased environmental disasters
caused floods, bush burning and deforestation.
Personal
Women are not elected as councilors (society prefers to elect more men in decision-making positions). Husbands dissuade
wives from holding decision-making positions
Access to land for income generating activities.
Community
Relatively declining standards of living due to limited access to finance and entrepreneurial skills and land for business
(including agricultural) purposes; Elders are most neglected due to their age as people are busy to make ends meet on a daily basis.
They are also vulnerable in terms of health; Rise in early marriage, high rate of school drop-outs, poor education standards of school
graduates increasing rate of FGM victims, increasing death rates due to illegal migration to the Mediterranean; Women: rising
maternal mortality due access to basic health care, difficulty in accessing land for income generating activities.
