National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.
"To Foster a Spirit of Sisterhood Among Teachers and to Promote the Highest Ideals of the Teaching Profession"
80th Midwest Regional Conference
Midwest Region Leadership Committee
Chairperson: Dorothy J. Batson, Beta Gamma
# of Chapters Reported: Ten (10)
Target Points:
1. To kick off the new sororal year, each chapter will host a Leadership Training, either a
Retreat or a Workshop. This will allow the chapter’s president, officers, the program
committees, and the sorors an opportunity to discuss goals, expectations, and
responsibilities outlined in the Manual of Policy and Procedures, the Constitution and
Bylaws, and the chapter’s Bylaws.
2. Develop an Action Plan as to how your chapter will accomplish the goals and expectations
that will help the growth of your chapter.
3. Discuss with sorors things that are successful and things that they can improve by working
together as a team to reach the potential and aims established by our Founders. What
knowledge, skills, and abilities do each soror have that can make a difference?
What has the Region accomplished in its entirety?
Chapters hosted Leadership Training to review the roles and responsibilities outlined in the
Manual of Policy and Procedures, Constitution and Bylaws, as well as their own chapter’s Bylaws.
Sorors spent quality time discussing the roles and expectations of chapter officers, committee
chairpersons, and members. Sorors participated in various fun activities to foster sisterhood.
