  BBQ Brokers Flavor Maker
Dewayne Poynter knows how to make people happy. From humble beginnings of cooking on an old loading dock behind his Grandfather's shopping center in Glasgow, Ky., to today's garage themed dining room with the Big Rig Stage. Dewayne's favorite saying is, "Come see us; we will feed ya good!"
Now Dewayne has started helping other barbe- cue folks by sharing his highly sought after fla- vor makers. He has developed a rub and sauce for just about any type of food you would want to cook, but we want to focus on those rubs that we used on the grill and BBQ pit.
Without question, his most known flavor gener-
ator is an all-purpose rub called Tennesippi Thunder. The rub is a much different take on the popular salt, pepper, and garlic sea- sonings with a hint of butter, onion, and other surprises blended in this masterful mix. We heard several SCA World Championship stage walkers give credit to this rub while in Fort Worth a few weeks back as well.
Our favorite out of all the rubs we cooked with was the Chick Dust
that offered a very complex taste on the chicken wings we enjoyed while homegating. Our taste- buds were surprised that we did not have to combine rubs to experience this explosion of flavor.
It's hard to believe that a single coat of rub can give such a complex profile to any meat, but that is what we found in all the rubs we tested. The Steak Spice was a salty and savory mix that again, was a very complex profile coming from a single rub.
After giving these flavor makers a try we now understand why Dewayne's Rib Lickers BBQ Joint is named to the Best of the Best Barbecue
Restaurants in America Guide.

 Grilltastic Steam Cleaning BBQ Brush
With Thanksgiving coming up, you will surely want to make sure your grill and pit are in top-notch shape before cooking for the entire family. The Grilltastic Steam Clean- ing BBQ Brush can help in making sure that your grates are clean and sanitized before the big day.
We are not fans of any grate
cleaner that uses steel wire
bristles. We have seen hun-
dreds of cases where broken
bristles created medical
emergencies after puncturing
internal parts. Just make sure
any last steps in cleaning
your grates uses a process to remove any fractured bristles that could be left behind.
Even with the above warning, we like this unit for cleaning your grill or pit grates. It does its job without any harsh chemicals, which we also dislike. The Grilltastic unit creates its own steam to help clean and sanitize any grates. Science tells us that 200° F can kill almost any known bacteria and steam happens when water is heated to 212° F.
Out testing proved the Grilltastic unit will do the job it was cre- ated to do and will do it in a fairly simple manner. Just know that
Left side is before and Right side is after cleaning
the heavier build-up areas on your grates will take more effort, but the steam will even- tually break down the grease and the brush will remove it.
This unit can also be a bit cumbersome as it uses 110V to operate the 1500

watt steam generator, which means there is a power cord in- volved. The process can be a little bit awkward while trying to hold the grate and create
pushing pressure with the
brush. An oversized sink will work perfectly for this task.
This unit retails on Ama- zon for $109.99, and you can find more details about this BBQ cleaning machine at their website at www.buygrilltastic.com
