It’s hard to believe that the year is half over . First, West Central District would like to congratulate all the new PT and PTA graduates and wish you the best of luck as you begin your careers .
West Central District started the year off with “Part II of Vestibular Rehabilitation Fundamentals” with Jesse Ehrnschwender, PT, MPT . This program was followed by a talk on “The Importance of Advocacy” by Christine Schulte, PT, MBA, who informed students why we have Advocacy Day and what the PAC actually is . Col . Deydre Teyhen, PT, PhD, OCS discussed the impact of sleep on pain and healing at the University of Dayton Research Night . Lastly, Kurt Jackson, PT, PhD, GCS gave an update for treating balance fall prevention .

Northeast District Report Jeff Swiers, PT, DPT, OCS, C-OMPT - Chair
The Northeast District has had a busy year in 2019 . Since January, we have hosted multiple events . We started out this year with our first presentation from Carol Mack, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS. Dr. Mack presented “Return to Play from ACL Injury - Don’t Forget About the End Stage of Rehab.” This presentation provided excellent sport-specific and return-to-sport information for athletes and also highlighted multiple aspects of care that may be overlooked at the end stage of rehabilitation .
On June 7, we hosted our annual Cleveland Indians Night Out . We had special guests from the OPTA office - Victoria Gresh, CAE and Patti Geary! It was a great night for baseball against the New York Yankees with Dollar Dog Night and fireworks after the game. The Indians played a great game and we came away with a win! Thank you to all the members who came out to support the Northeast District!
Later in June, we hosted our Annual CE event “Update from the APTA House of Delegates (HOD) and the OPTA.” We always host this event as a
free opportunity for members, non-members and PT/PTA students to learn about what is going on within the OPTA, the APTA, and at the APTA HOD . We would like to thank our great presenters: OPTA Vice President Christine Schulte, PT, MBA; Scott Euype, PT, DPT, MHS, OCS; and Sanaz Armand, PTA .
The Northeast District has a new email address that we will be transitioning to moving forward. The address is: northeastdistrictopta@gmail .com We will transition all communication and questions to this account .
The Northeast District will be holding our annual Marilyn Mount Case Report Night on Dec . 3! Please continue to look at our upcoming emails about submissions of posters and presentations . We look forward to seeing you there!
We invite you to join us for our upcoming events which include dates and times on the OPTA website, via emails, our Facebook page at Northeast District OPTA, on Twitter at @NE_PT_Ohio and through our Google Calendar through the Northeast District OPTA .
