Microscopical Characters
The rhizome and frond-bases exhibit the same microscopic structure;

epidermis, of thin-walled dark brown cells; hypodermis of few layers of yellowish-
brown, thick-walled, non-lignified fibrous sclerenchymatous cells, ground tissue,
of large, rather thick-walled polygonal or rounded paren-chymatous cells,
