SANDERS SCIENCE HALL AT
EUREKA COLLEGE
The Sanders Science Hall project, completed for Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois,
is a four-story, 17,270 square foot addition adjacent to Vennum-Binkley Science
Hall. The project involved the addition of offices, classrooms, a tiered lecture hall,
an instrumentation room and organic and inorganic labs with prep rooms. Sanders
Hall compliments the architecture of the adjoining late nineteenth century science
building and successfully blends the proud history of the campus with the latest
in technology. The building has a steel-framed structure with brick exterior and
was constructed using recycled materials and sensor controlled lighting and a
geothermal heating system were added to improve the energy efficiency of the
building.
