CORE Construction
COPPER SKY POLICE SUBSTATION
The Copper Sky Police Substation project, built for the City of Maricopa,
included the new construction of an 8,100 square foot police station located in
Maricopa, Arizona. The six-acre facility houses the Maricopa Police Department
Communications Center, the Property Evidence Unit, Community Action Team,
K-9 Unit, and Emergency Operations Center. The police station was constructed
using a concrete masonry unit stem wall foundation, a structural steel frame, an
Exterior Insulation Finishing System, and a foam roof. The project also features a
community regional training room and K-9 officer training area to expand police
presence, establish citizen trust, and increase response times. Due to CORE’s
implementation of innovation design, the Copper Sky Police Substation project
possesses the capability to expand to meet the growing needs of the City of
Maricopa. The project received LEED Silver Certification upon completion.
