PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCE | MUNICIPAL
SAHARA DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR
VEHICLES REPLACEMENT FACILITY
The Sahara DMV Replacement Facility project, built for the State Public Works
Division, included the new construction of a single-story 38,569 square foot
municipal transportation complex located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The facility
functions as a customer service center for the Department of Motor Vehicles
and supports approximately 136 public service employees. The municipal
transportation complex was constructed on a spread and continuous footings
foundation with a concrete masonry unit block and structural steel frame. An
exterior of concrete masonry unit block, metal panel siding, and glass with a single
ply roof completed the construction. The project also included the demolition of
the adjacent aging transportation building and the installation of 40 customer
service windows, outdoor kiosks for afterhours transactions, and new offices
for the DMV Emissions Lab and Offices of Admirative Hearings. Due to CORE’s
construction efforts, the Sahara DMV Replacement Facility project now provides
a modernized and spacious facility to serve the growing population of Las Vegas.
