COXHEALTH EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

The CoxHealth Emergency Department project, built as a Joint Venture with Beck
Group, included the new construction of a 78,000 square foot emergency room
addition to the existing CoxHealth South Hospital located in Springfield, MO. The
facility houses 62 beds, dedicated pediatric and adult trauma rooms, critical care
rooms, two psychiatric safe rooms, and a full radiology suite. The addition was
constructed utilizing a structural steel frame and an exterior consisting of metal
panels, metal veneer, and curtain walls. A modified bituminous standing seam
roof completed the construction. The project also features advanced imaging,
laboratory services, and state-of-the-art disaster management facilities as well as
a dedicated pharmacy, a monitored cardiac observation unit, and an emergency
ambulatory entrance. The CoxHealth Emergency Department project provides
a larger facility to the community, in which to receive advanced onsite critical
medical services with shorter wait times.
