   COPPER SKY POLICE SUBSTATION
The Copper Sky Police Substation project, built for the City of Maricopa, included the new construction of an 8,100-square-foot police station located in Maricopa, AZ. The 5.6-acre facility houses the Maricopa Police Department Communications Center, the Property Evidence Unit, Community Action Team, K-9 Unit, and Emergency Operations Center. The police station was constructed using a concrete masonry unit stem wall foundation, a structural steel frame, an exterior insulation finishing system, and a foam roof. The project also features a community training room and K-9 Officer training area. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for energy efficiency and sustainable features. The new Copper Sky Police Substation has expanded police resources resulting in decreased response times to better serve and protect the growing needs of the community.
