GREAT BASIN RESIDENCE HALL AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, RENO
The Great Basin Residence Hall project, built for the University of Nevada, Reno, included the new construction of a five-story, 116,360-square-foot student housing facility located on the University’s campus. The facility houses 115 students pursuing the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and supports 411 beds. Construction consisted of a foundation of cast-in-place concrete with a block and plank structural frame, a masonry veneer exterior, and a membrane and metal roof. The project also features a storefront and curtain wall finish, and punched window openings. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council upon its completion. The Great Basin Residence Hall project now promotes academic success through state-of-the-art STEM themed student housing.
