HILLENBRAND AQUATIC CENTER IMPROVEMENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA
The Hillenbrand Aquatic Center Improvements project, completed for the University of Arizona, included the renovation of a 1,000,000-gallon competition pool and the addition of a pool equipment room located in Tucson, AZ. The facility functions as a competition and training pool for student athletes and Olympians. Renovations of the pool consisted of the demolition of the original lap pool, the installation of a 65-meter by 25-yard-wide, 8-foot to 9-foot deep lap pool, and the removal of the original dive pool for construction of the pool equipment room. The equipment room was constructed on a concrete foundation with a CMU block structural frame with hollow-core plank roof structure, a brick veneer exterior, and a TPO with 2-inch polyisocynaurate insulation. Due to CORE’s effective coordination and scheduling with University staff, the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center Improvements project was completed on time.
