                                                  Normal beam

If the ground level is low the traditional casting of
beam does not allow lights to enter to the basement,
but the use of Upstanding beam allows light passing
                                                to the basement

Points to be remember in slab design
  • Proper cover of 10-12 mm should be
     maintained.
  • Spacing of top bars and bottom bars
should be as mentioned in drawing.
  • Electrical layout before casting. Crank portion
  • Crank length is 0.1 ly, lx from the end of
     the beam.
  • Properly placement of chair bars to
prevent collapsing and touching of upper
     cage reinforcement and lower cage
     reinforcement to one another
                                                                                       Chair bars
