ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This manual was put together by the dedicated members of the Argyle Police Department. Most
of them have come to our agency with many years of experience at larger departments. Among the
struggles that small agencies face is the call volume and activity level to properly train inexperienced
officers. Our hope is that this manual will be a useful reference for new officers at smaller agencies such
as ours. We also hope this manual helps new officers get up to speed faster and perform their duties
safer. We fully understand that the budgets of smaller agencies are the most limited and they are the
ones that need training and information the most because they often operate alone. This is why we
believe it was imperative that this information be free and available to every FTO and officer. Law
enforcement is a great profession and makes this a better place for all of us. Our ultimate hope is that
more officers and agencies will come together to put out ideas and concepts like this for all to see and
make us all better. If you see an error or have a suggestion for something that you believe needs to be
added to this manual, please contact Sgt. Segura at antoniosegurajr@gmail.com.
