3. Adverbs of place answer questions where.
Example:
Aldi : Where do you usually practice badminton?
Ria : I usually do it in Hero stadium.
4. Adverbs of frequency answer questions how often.
Example:
Aldi : How often do you practice badminton?
Ria : Three times a week; every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoon.
5. Adverbs of quantity answer questions how much/how many.
Example:
Aldi : By the way, how much do you pay for your hobby?
Ria : Let me tell you this. Since I am already a club member, I pay voluntarily, as much as I can. In
fact, the club has major sponsors. They're the national players who donate some of their money
prizes to the club.
Aldi : Amazing!
Adverbs often describe verbs, other adverbs, or adjectives. Study the examples below (the adverbs are in
bold).
1. Adverbs describe verbs.
Examples:
• Arhan throws the ball powerfully.
• The striker almost scores a goal.
2. Adverbs describe other adverbs.
Examples:
• Veddriq Leonardo is moving too quickly to reach the top.
• Arina speaks rather softly in order not to bother her friends.
3. Adverbs describe adjectives.
Examples:
• Yuki is very tall. She can easily smash the ball.
• Please use sunblock. I think the sun shines extremely bright today.
