Tiger beetles are not striped orange and black, but they are fast
and deadly, and wonderful hunters.
They are in fact sprint champions in the insect world.
Compared to humans they seem slow - about 2.Skph, but if a
beetle was as big as a horse, its speed would be scaled up to 400 kph!
Not only is it fast, but its eyesight is amazing.
It can see up to 15cm, which again does not sound much, but in
the insect world this is a long way.
It has six long legs, which work on the hydraulic principle, snapping
forwards and whizzing backwards as pressure in the legs is controlled.
And we mustn't forget the powerful jaws, which dispatch some
unsuspecting insect prey.
Put all these features together and you have a combination of
efficient and useful designs, all integrated and working together.
Not forgetting the brain, nervous system, internal organs and
exoskeleton. All this and more point to an amazing Creator.
