Usually the orang-utan is depicted in
movies and elsewhere as a kindly,
                                                         friendly, harmless member of the
                                                         primate family.
Some people get so sentimental about
this gentle ape that they think of them
                      I as almost people.

But they are NOT human, and they

little loris As such they have animal behaviour.
(If you love orang-utans, stop reading
                                                         here!)

At least nine times so far the orang-utan has been documnted
killing aother primate - the loris.
Which means this kindly vegetarian also eats meat - when there
               is a shortage of fruit.

               The orang-utan creeps up on
the loris, and knocks it from its
               branch.
The loris falls and hits the
               ground hard and is stunned,
               whereupon the orang-utan
climbs down and bites its . -

               The orang-utan then climbs
back up the tree and eats , I

               to meat-eating.
