Interview guidelines



               Before a scheduled interview:

                   •  Jot down anything on  their resume/not  on their resume that you would like to
                      check/validate (must be work related  only, i.e., Work Cover Provider number,

                      Qualifications, Registration details, etc.).

                   •  Review the Interview Hints & Tips below.
                   •  Review technical interview questions and select which  ones you  will use  –  you

                      shouldn’t need to use any more than 6 questions.
                   •  Have an idea of what case study or testing you may like to conduct and have this

                      ready to use, depending on whether this is optional or essential.

                   •  If you are a new hiring manager, read through and use the below RRP profile to
                      ensure you know the key information and benefits of working for RRP – make sure

                      you use the same process and interview questions for each candidate interviewed
                      for a particular role to ensure a clear, consistent and fair process, plus ease of direct

                      comparison between candidates.


               When the candidate arrives:

                   •  Once seated, explain the purpose of the interview, i.e., to learn more about them,
                      their experience, some testing (if applicable) etc. and  give an approximate

                      timeframe, i.e. 45-60 minutes.
                   •  Let the person know that you will be taking notes.



               Give the candidate an overview of how the interview will be conducted, i.e. to:
                   •  Learn more about their background and experience, focusing more on technical and

                      professional aspects (using the Technical Interview questions you had already
                      selected).

                   •  Go over the job description in more detail, specifically around your location, clients

                      and customers and the breakdown of their responsibilities.
                   •  Explain the following: Structure of the branch including staff numbers and break

                      down  of roles by discipline. Specific information, e.g., customer requirements or
                      needs, special projects or activities, etc.
