reason for their fast growing character and high efficiency in utilizing sunlight
energy. C-4 plants in general show high phostosynthetic efficiency, and optimum
photosynthesis temperature compared to C-3 and CAM plants. These
characteristics cause weeds to grow faster and occupy empty room earlier than
other plants. Weeds are pioneer plants.
