eavy metals are of two categories: plant nutrient heavy metals that
includes those needed by plants like Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and Mo and non-plant
nutrient heavy metals like Pb, Cd, Hg etc that are not needed by plants.
Both categories show similar chemical characteristics and similar behaviors in the
soil environment. Both categories are absorbed by plant roots and toxic at high
concentrations.
