Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21), it was forty years later before
that imprecatory prayer and prophecy were fulfilled.
5. Pray with the heart of God. (Read Psalm 83:9-18).
We should pray for the defeat of God’s enemies, but we should also
appeal to Him to deliver them. Jesus wept over Jerusalem and in His
imprecation over them He said: “from now on you shall not see Me
until you say, ‘Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord’.
That is a redemptive pronouncement by our Lord.
According to Psalm 83:16-18, we see the heart of the Lord God
crying out for those who are experiencing an imprecation. He wants
them to seek His name and to know He is the Lord Most High over
all the earth!
Mercy and judgment are companions and we must remember
this when we pray imprecatory prayers!
CONCLUSION: In light of the urgency of this hour and the
condition of our nation, the Church of King Jesus needs to employ
this much neglected and needed ministry of praying imprecatory
prayers—prayers which defeat evil that is institutionalized in
religious systems and governmental structures.
“Lord Jesus, grace us for such a task”
