DO YOU REMEMBER
by Dominea Uncles
Do you remember
Laying wrapped up in each other
On Kallie’s couch
Your legs wrapped around mine
My foot caressing your exposed leg One gentle hand in my hair
One tracing my lips
A loop up to my nose
Along my sculpted jawline
I stared into your endless green eyes And saw love so raw it was dripping You whispered I love you
And my heart locked those words away
And you promised
That you really loved me I'm sure you did
Now I remember
All of these things
As I'm sitting here Replaying them
And shedding glass tears Down my porcelain face I remember
DEEP BLUE
by Mady Schnackenberg
Do you remember the way you kept me close The stutter of your heart against my back And the steady rise and fall of your breathing As I fell asleep
You said you loved me
To your sweet sighs Feeling at peace for once I had no idea
Do you remember
Standing in that hallway
Those same eyes pleading
You are distant
Yet standing close enough
The tension
You longing to hold me one last time
I felt it too
I felt your heart tug as you said goodbye As you spewed your excuses
And begged me silently
Not to cry
As I stood there
A statue of regret
Because isn't this how it always ends You hesitate
Like your going to reach for me
But your arm falls
And your wall collapses
As you turn away
And I crumble
A sobbing mess
Do you remember
When you loved me
And we were one
A beautiful mess
Put together for some reason
Do you remember
When I finally said yes to you
