over with a terrific noise. They just missed breaking
the neighbor's window.
"They were ready to start again when a policeman
attracted by the noise told them to stay where they were
until daybreak, threatening legal action for disturbing
the peace."
Eventually they managed to get their few possessions
within the gate of "Het Walletje." When they reached
the house, Ryken showed them a cupboard where, on
his tour of inspection, he had pasted a picture of St.
Joseph. The five of them-Ryken, Duchateau, Smisdon,
Melis, Tomballe fell on their knees and thanked God
through St. Joseph, their advocate and protector.
