    Table 8.2 sets out some of the questions and answers in columns 1 and 2. Some of Mr Sapir’s
comments are shown in shaded cells in column 3. Our comments are also made in column
3, but in clear cells. Comments which are derived from external evidence or are not based
only on the wording within the transcript are in italics. Column 4 contains a list of the labels
(nouns and pronouns) used in column 2 and important verbs. These words were highlighted
and used under Word’s ‘Find’ command to find repetitions.

    Mrs Chamberlain’s story falls naturally into nine segments:
