P. 239

I plead with the Committee to defer a decision on 19 September 2019 to allow time for AHL
                                                                  th
to reapply for the integrated WH:EDF and WH scheme. If it does this - in accordance with

policies that preserve the distinctive characteristics of Ashurst Wood I will support it and get
               off your radar.

               Yours as ever,

               Michael Comer

PS I have just read AHL letter to you of 16 September 2019 and ask that this is also copied
               to members of the Committee.

Other developers have complied with policies on parking and affordable homes and AHL
should be required to do the same.

I believe AHL commercial viability assessments for both the WH:EDF site and combined sites
give a completely different picture from that presented in the application. MSDC asked to see
this on an open book basis but did not follow through and it has never appeared.

The EUV of the WH:EDF site and GCP Development possible role as a seller of the land and
profit participating partner should be examined.

The AW policy on parking has been honoured by other developers. The only condition under
which it can be supplanted by the WSCC calculator when compelling site-specific reasons
                                                                 is
are validated. In this case they do not and Mr King comment that allowing parking to spill

                                                      is
onto the A22 would be desirable irresponsible: come on!.
                                is
Crossing the A22 dangerous now but with 20 to 30 cars blocking it would make it a killer.
                                                                                                         I
have urged MSDC-WSCC to carry out a junction survey of the 4.8 metre entrance, but his has
               not been done.
The MSDC report does not refer to the 2016 supposed pre-application meeting that was
bandied about in the Design and Access Statement for both DM/18/1548 and DM/19/1025.
This specified underground parking as a pre-condition for a high-density development. AHL
has had more than enough time to get the parking allocation right. The reason it has not
               done so is over-development.

If does not surprise me that AHL reached agreeable scheme with Mr Dorman

Fortunately it is not his decision to make.
