Thus the idea that the objectives of the Neighbourhood Plan cannot be met unless
50+ units are built now and only on the EDF site is factually incorrect.
As regards the second assertion, from reading Mr Taylor’s letter one could be forgiven for
thinking that the only issue to be considered in respect of DM/19/1025 is density. He asserts
that the previous application DM/18/ 1548 was presented to the public, open to extensive
public comment, and extensive discussion with planning officials, and that the new
application fully reflects all the issues raised. That is simply not true:-
As pointed out by numerous parties in earlier correspondence, the public
presentation was a sham exercise as a result of which nothing changed and all of the
objections then raised were completely ignored
At the end of the consultation exercise DM/18/1548 was comprehensibly rejected by
the Planning Officers. As pointed out in our letters of 15 and 29 April 2019 and that
from the Ashurst Wood Parish Planning Committee dated 24 April 2019, a detailed
examination of DM/19/1025 reveals that, far from taking account of the reasons for
the earlier rejection, the new application still suffers from many, if not most, of the
previous one’s deficiencies.
The statement from Mr Taylor that the new design has “responded to all their
observations” is therefore also factually incorrect.
As a consequence we take issue with Mr Taylor’s statement in his para 4.3 that he “can see
no reason to argue that the current scheme is not compliant with AWNP policy”
We are, however, pleased to see from his postscript that the planning officers have decided
to refer DM/19/1025 to the Design Review Panel, and we look forward to seeing their own
observations on this new application.
Yours Sincerely,
A M Tillin
