collecting from the same area will make blockage at the entrance even worse.

The plan also shows that 2 blocks of affordable housing will be crammed alongside the
entrance. Reduced parking spaces (per dwelling) have been allowed for affordable housing Page | 24
but the intention appears to be not to allocate them and they are woefully insufficient.

Scrambling for parking spaces will, again, jam the entrance.

Drivers who cannot find a space will have no alternative but to park on verges or on the
A22. This is the case on the southern route from Forest Row: it dangerous and not policed.

In the past few weeks trees at the entrance have been destroyed:

This may anticipate modifications to the entrance, although no one has admitted
responsibility.

7.4 Traffic Flows on the A22
Traffic – north and south - on the A22 is fast and heavy and estimated at 700 vehicles per

hour at peak times. The addition through the integrated development of 120 new homes
(and an estimated 240 vehicles) is unlikely to make a significant difference to existing traffic
flows on the main road. The problem is with entry and egress, the WORT lane, head-on
confrontation within it, and movements internal to the development.
The Transport Statement, by Motion Consultants Ltd on behalf of AHL, attempts to predict
the traffic generated by proposed development of 71 flats and concludes that there would be
a saving of around 38% from the “existing” EDF building. This claim is misleading and based
on a circular and fallacious argument because the EDF building is derelict and existing traffic
flows are approximately zero.
