               1    THE CURRENT APPLICATION
               The current application  (DM/18/1548) is by Ashgrove Homes Ltd (AHL) to build 50 market

               and 21 affordable one and two bedroom, mainly four storey, flats for elderly people and
               young families on the 0.84ha  Wealden House, EDF  site (WH:EDF) in Lewes Road, RH19         Page | 1

               The brownfield site was identified as suitable for development of “50+” dwellings  in the

               Sustainability Appraisal Update Report dated September 2015 and included in the Ashurst
               Wood Neighbourhood Plan (AWNP) in March 2016. This was inspected and approved by
               MSDC. AWNP is the determinative “made” plan for the village.

               The site map, included in a Design and Access Statement submitted by AHL in early June
               2018, is as follows;
