        Dear Mat,

That’s good news (I hope), but the following table shows the damages he received for the same accident. It
was a minor injury to his left hand and ribs.

Just by way of quick background. He lived with my daughter for 9 years and was a sponger.

Then he had an accident on his bike and a year later claimed to be suffering from tinnitus, persuaded the
CAA to cancel his pilot’s licence and made the above claims. He was/is as fit as a flea! The day after
Diamond paid up, he threw his medication the bin saying “I won’t need this anymore”,

He believed he would get millions from Diamond (his big hope was up to £3million) which was the insurer
of the driver who admitted liability for knocking him off his bike. He did not disclose your policy to
Diamond. He transferred £500,000 to my daughters mortgage account (on which her ex-husband remained
a signatory) in a very circuitous and devious way.

He repeatedly refused to say whether the transfer was a loan or a gift. Her husband threatened to snaffle the
£500,000 from the joint account. Happy days!

We hoped Mr Solheim would clarify that it was a loan but he would not; under any circumstances. He
would not give evidence in my daughter’s divorce hearing because “he had to look after the dog”. As you
would if you had £500,000 at stake!

It was a very hot potato for him! In fact, he went to great lengths to disassociate himself from the
£500,000. I believe this was because he was worried Diamond would discover it and deny his £3 million
claim. In fact, Diamond was very sensible and got him to settle or £460,000.

                                                            1
