Subject: Personal Accident Claim. Mr Sigve Solheim STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL & IN CONTEMPLATION OF
LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
Attachments: MJC Bio short version.pdf
Dear Mr Evans,
Your reference 00031030/7706
I am the father of Louise Siggers who is involved in a TOLATA dispute with Mr Sigve Solheim, her ex-partner
of 9 years. Louise is acting as a litigant in person and I am assisting her. My CV is attached.
You represented Diamond Insurance in a claim that Mr Solheim made for a personal accident and which
your firm settled in April 2018 for total of compensation and costs amounting to – I believe - £944,972.96.
Mr Solheim also received compensation of £394,937 for the loss of his pilot’s licence from easyJet
and Hiscox Underwriters Limited,
You held a joint settlement meeting with Mr Solheim and his legal advisers on 9 March 2018. He assured
th
me and Louise that he had declared two potentially duplicative personal accident policies: one which paid
out £525,397.60 in October 2016 (with AIG and funded as part of his employment package with easyJet)
and another monthly income replacement/loss of earnings policy (which paid out around £100,000) with
Cirencester Friendly. He funded this policy privately and it had subrogation links to the Diamond insurance
policy.
Mr Solheim attended the joint settlement meeting expecting a net settlement of over £1,000,000 and left
with a net of £325,159.94. He implied that the difference was attributable to the offsetting of the two
policies.
Louise is preparing her evidence for a CMC-FDR hearing in late January 2020 which we need to ensure is
100% accurate. I should be very grateful if you would please confirm that my understanding is correct.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Comer
