CUTTING / TRIMMING
CARD SLITTERS
FEATURING: GW PT335 SCC
Business cards, one of the largest mass produced items, are easiest produced
by using a card cutter. Card cutters, however, are not only used for business
cards, they are also used for postcards, greeting cards, invitations, direct mail
brochures and CD jackets.
Cortech’s card cutters are multi-function machines able to cut multiple sizes
of cards; some models also offer creasing, scoring and perforating. Card
information is imported into preset templates, while job setup is entered via a
touch-screen control panel. Sheets are automatically fed into the cutter and
processed according to job specifications. Some cutters include custom job
programming, gutter cut with a waste catcher, exit trays with side guides, and a
business card collection tray for neat stacking of finished cards. Our four-in-one
models offer a complete digital print finishing solution.
CORNER CUTTERS / PAPER JOGGERS
FEATURING: CORNERMASTER 7
Rounded corners are one of the simplest and most effective methods of adding a
unique touch to business cards. Corner rounding can also be used as an up-sell option
for other types of cards, posters, tags and menus. It is also used when producing file
folders and with signage.
Cortech has a corner rounder for every level of corner-rounding production. We
offer desktop and floor model versions in manual, electric and pneumatic operation.
Cortech also carries desktop and floor model paper joggers in both electric and
pneumatic operation. Paper jogging machines use vibrating motion to align untidy
stacks of paper prior to further processing such as corner rounding, bookletmaking,
padding and trimming.
ROTARY / DESKTOP PAPER TRIMMERS
FEATURING: MAXCUT
Rotary and desktop paper trimmers are two more styles of cutting tools Cortech
has available. Rotary paper trimmers, known for their precision and accuracy,
have a rolling blade which can cut in either direction through low thicknesses
of paper. Lever (shear) style paper trimmers follow the design of the traditional
guillotine but cut just a few sheets at a time.
Cortech’s rotary trimmers and desktop cutters have self-sharpening steel blades,
and work surfaces which are printed with a grid to help ensure proper alignment
when cutting. Lever cutters come in a desktop style; rotary trimmers are available
in both floor models with a rolling stand or desktop options. These trimmers are
popular in copy shops, wide format print rooms, print shops, schools and other
locations where paper is cut on a regular basis.
