 DIRECTOR’S LETTER
Hello! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Laura Fromwiller and I am very happy to have been chosen by the Library Board as the new director of the Brandon Township Public Library.
I grew up in nearby Holly, Michigan and received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan – Flint, and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. I previously worked for the Lapeer District Library, then Oxford Township Public Library. I am in my 23rd year in libraries and can truly say I love my job.
The previous director, Rebecca Higgerson, and the library staff have done and continue to do an amazing job for this community. They have done a wonderful job providing services in a resourceful, safe, and creative way during this pandemic. I feel privileged to be joining this team, in this beautiful building, with a solid foundation based on wise financial, staffing, and organizational decisions by Rebecca and the Board.
I am looking forward getting to know this community and continuing the progress of this wonderful library. Stop in and see us! We have great programs for all ages, a vast collection of physical and electronic materials, and friendly staff that are happy to help!
Hope to see you at the library soon,
Laura Fromwiller

CURRENT RESIDENT
 Hello Friends and Library Advocates!
I have a few Friends of the Library announcements for 2022 I want to share. First, we are reinitiating member dues. Beginning January 2022, FOL membership is $10 an individual, $20 a family, and $50 a company. Members receive a membership pin, minutes of the FOL board meetings, and the ability to cast a vote to elect FOL officers.
Second, we have elected officers for 2022! The officers for this year are: Tom Roberts, President; Alan Allgaier, Vice President; Patty Salter, Treasurer; and Tina Allgaier, Secretary.
Third, we are once again having monthly meetings! Due to the pandemic, we had to put many of the FOL fundraising activities on hold. We want to revisit these. We also want to hear any ideas you may have to help the FOL fundraise for and better serve our library. Meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at 6 PM. We hope to see you there!
At the Brandon Township Friends of the Library, we are volunteering our time, energy, and talents towards extending our library’s capacity to serve Brandon Township. We do this through gifts of money and donations, membership dues, book sales, and other activities. Please join us in our efforts. I invite you to become a FOL member and a Brandon Township Library advocate!
