Dubai Creek to get Dhs112 million pier

Fingers crossed for no more flooding

Huge plans to breathe new life into the Dubai Creek pier and upgrade the damaged
walls of Dubai Creek have been announced.
The Dubai Municipality announced the project to rebuild and rehabilitate the supporting
walls along the historic Deira side of the creek on Sunday February 26.
Long stretches of the creek from both the Deira and Bur Dubai sides will be rehabilitated
as part of the plans.
Over the past 50 years sections of the wall have become increasingly dilapidated and
potential flooding during harsh weather conditions has increasingly become a concern.
The site will be divided into multiple sections and each segment will be sequentially
patterned to ensure uninterrupted docking traffic.
