The UAE has been taking incredible care of its female citizens and residents, lifting them up in their
many personal and professional roles through its endless capacity for progress and empowerment.
Just recently - in January 2025 - the UAE Ministry of Economy implemented a ministerial decision
mandating private joint-stock companies in the UAE to allocate at least one seat for women on their
boards of directors after the completion of the current board's term.
It is one of the many decisions of H.E. Alia Bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for
Entrepreneurship, UAE Ministry of Economy, to open up the closely guarded doors of business
leadership to women and recognize their contributions to the country's economic development.
"The UAE has long been at the forefront of gender equality in the region, particularly in the work-
force," says H.E. Al Mazrouei.
