SPRUCE UP
YOUR HOME FOR

e all look forward to the first day of spring.
WThat morning that you wake up, throw open
the windows, take that first big breath of the warm
breeze and think, “How did my windows get so
dirty”. And, so it begins – Spring Cleaning. Once
you spend the time (or money) to clean your win-
dows, why not start sprucing up your home for
spring; small, subtle changes in each room to really
celebrate the season.
Let’s start with those windows that are now spar-
kling. There is nothing to show off those sparkling
windows like new window treatments. Replace
those “reminds me of winter” window treatments
with something lighter, whether in color or fabric.
A material made not to keep the cold out, but to
let the light in. There’s a reason it seems like there
are white sheer drapery, billowing in the breeze…
everywhere. It’s an appealing image that makes
you think of warm weather, the promise of summer
and outdoor living. So now the sun is shining in through clean win-
dows, newly adorned with lighter seasonal win-

creating your Spring Home. And, try rearranging
your furniture to give you a different perspective.
The reading chair that lived by the fireplace for
the winter can be moved to an area where the sun
shines in. And, don’t forget about your art work.
Buy one new piece of art. Without having to paint
a room, the new piece forces you to move your art
around adding new interest to the room. Consider
a gallery wall. Or if you have one, switch out the
images; or at minimum move them around. Subtle
differences make all the difference.
