The one thing we noticed was
Walker County Center the excitement and pride shown
of Technology by both the teachers and student.
Jasper, AL I have to say I haven’t seen this
much enthusiasm in years. The
different things the teams came
up with in building these vehicles
was imaginative and showed and
incredible amount of “Out of the
Box” thinking, especially by the
students. The fact that it brought
students from all different areas
of interest that may never have
come together seemed to add to
something new to building cars.
These are truly works of art and
if you have a chance to see one at a
car show you should stop and look
at everything they have done.
I was able to take out the VW,
built by ATC and I must say it
was fun. It took me a minute to
understand the shifting. 3 speed on
fl oor but backwards from what it
was on the column. I didn’t go far
but I think it would be fun to try it
out on the highway.
Walker County Center
of Technology in Jasper, AL
had just fi nished welding
on the fl oor, put two miles
on it, loaded everyone in
and took off for Charlotte.
They made it without any
problems. A true testament
to the ability of the teachers
and the work of the students.
